Character Education Valued and Recognized

Our character education program is taking off at BRES!  Through the good works of our PTA and our guidance counselor, our BRES Character Education program is coming to fruition.  At our General PTA Meeting we honored over 50 students who were nominated by their homeroom classrooms for consistently demonstrating the character traits of Integrity or Kindness.  Each child was called to the stage, given a certificate and congratulated for personal efforts in demonstrating character.  Parents, grandparents and family members were in attendance to cheer the students on as they accepted their award.  It was a very proud moment for our parents and for me!

Our character education program will continue to grow here at BRES!  We currently seeking volunteers to support our K-2 character program by reading a book to a class and discussing the character trait (it's easy and we have everything prepared for you).  Can you help us?  Email Ms. Wu, our guidance counselor at ewu@wcpss.net or call the school at 919-890-7333 and we can answer any of your questions.

Additionally, we are working on getting a special bulletin board up where we will display each nominated student's photo for the character trait of the month.  Here is a list of our character traits for the upcoming months at BRES:

Jan-Good Judgment
Feb. Diversity *
Mar-Respect
Apr- Perseverance
May- Courage
Jun- Self-Discipline

* More information to come...
