Good Evening Trailblazers,
This is Mrs. Graf with several announcements:
First things first, carpool changes will be happening this week! In an effort to reduce the traffic out on Banks Road we will begin double carpool lanes on Wednesday. You may have noticed new markings in our drive way on Monday, specifically outlining the bus lanes and the carpool lane. The new marking will specifically show where the carpool changes from a single lane to a double lane. The double lane will allow for additional vehicles to line up for carpool and move towards the student loading zone. Additional markings and signage will indicate where vehicles should stop and remain stopped until directed to the loading zone by a school staff member. Our first priority is student safety in carpool and local law enforcement and WCPSS Facilities staff members will be assisting us in making this transition as well. I will be sending out specific information regarding these upcoming changes to all carpool parents tomorrow in carpool.
Here is an update on the Fun Run. We have already collected over $10,000! All funds are due by May 2nd and we may very well reach our school goal of $15,000. These funds will go towards purchasing new technology for our students!
BRES is looking for a few great parents to fill the roles needed to maintain and support our wonderful PTA. If you are interested in supporting BRES by becoming a PTA Officer, please contact the nominating committee (Brandi Gozy, Beth Ryals, and Rebecca Campbell) at banksrdpta@gmail.com.
Don’t forget Picture Day for Track 3 is tomorrow, April 8th. Wear your favorite outfit and bring your best smile! Tomorrow is also School Spirit Night at Jersey Mikes at McCullers Crossing and Ten Ten. Don’t cook tomorrow night, instead come out and eat at Jersey Mike’s or place an order to go. Our school gets 20% back to make purchases that directly support our students. I’ll be there with my family and I hope to see you!
Case Benchmark assessment scores are in. Your teachers have the scores and should have shared this information with you.
And last but not least, our Beautification Day on Saturday was wonderful! By 10:30 a.m. we had a great turnout of students, families and support in sprucing up our campus. Thanks to the families that attended, brought heavy duty equipment, wheelbarrows and muscle to spread the mulch and clean up the front of our campus. You guys are the best!
That’s it Trailblazers! This information will be posted to the BRES website and will go out on the Principal’s Desk Blog. Please call the school if you have any questions.
Always Trailblazer Proud, Mrs. Graf
